Jaime Andres Martinez is a Colombian Canadian filmmaker based in Toronto.
Growing up as a first-generation immigrant in Quebec, Jaime found community and solace in the art of filmmaking, pushing him to pursue his passion for storytelling by moving to Toronto and study at TMU where he graduated in film studies.
His filmography tends to focus on oddball characters dealing with the unpleasant realities of life, making for films that stride the line between comedy and drama, such as UFO BROS (2024) where an amateur UFO hunter duo break up over their changing priorities in life all the while being visited by actual aliens or Spaceman (2025) a film focusing on a man unable to remove his astronaut suit and his journey in learning self-love.
As his catalogue of directed films grow so does Jaime’s ambition, each previous experience encouraging him to push his creativity even further as he strives to create movies that are just as entertaining as they are thought-provoking.
Jaime's skillset extends past directing as well. Having worked on Darkest Miriam (2024) in the grip department, script supervised the short film From the Clay (2025), producing and assistant directing various other short film productions such as Shroom Shop Shakedown (2023), Lumi (2023), The Repast (2024) and many more.
